The United Federation of American-Pacific States (アメリカ及び太平洋諸国連邦) is one of the largest nation conglomerates in the world of Taimanin.

In Japan, the term US Federation (米連) is more often in use. Unlike the real or old "United States of America" the UFS is an even larger and had formed as a result from the alternative history and future history during the Taiwan Crisis. It is a federalized cooperative body under a trusteeship that governed over parts of Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and both American continents.

As an American Pacific Federation, they oppose the Chinese Union, and both are in a state of Cold War.

Policy[]

The UFS is in a technological arms race with the other powers of the Taimanin universe, the Chinese Union. Aiming for more and more hell technology enhancements, stealing even from Japan and the Demon Realm.

They can act very underhanded, brainwashing some Taimanin into serving as living weapons or killing politicians and normal people, with less restrained if a mission demands it. Groups like Nomad are silently supported in order to gain a bigger technological edge against the Chinese Union. Regardless, some people in the UFS do follow more idealistic ideals of cooperation. As such, some secret but benevolent demon tribes found in the borders of the UFS are at times integrated. The UFS, specially the department of defense, cooperates the most with Japan and the Taimanin, and accepts their independence. Cooperation and sharing between UFS and Japan also let to the creation of the PEX-88 Type Raiden for Japan, though, most advanced technology is kept secret.

The UFS is also one of the three major factions in Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena. Additional material also confirms that the UFS, still has a president.

Technology Preferences[]

The UFS military is using mechanical enhancements and advanced technologies: cyborgs, simple robots, exoskeletons, future firearms, as well as mechanical animals from the "drone program".

Exoskeletons are most in use in the main military, like the XPS-11A Bone and Alexander, among special solider armors. Recently, the Claudius has been implemented, making the Bone unit outdated. The UFS, relies strongly on "CS" Cyborg Soldiers, which can rival Japans Taimanin in strength, but the often invasive surgeries necessary can lead to psychologically damaging effects, often pushed further with little ethical restriction. Their cyborgs overall are much slimmer than those in use in other nations, often acting as spies or guards.

The UFS is also researching androids and other AI powered beings with real intelligence, Synthetics but have been far less successful to mass produce anything because of the extremely high cost involved and experimentally unstable nature of this research. However, AI powered drones and tanks are becoming the norm, with most remote drones using some AI system to react faster to enemy forces.

Numerous recent advancements came as the result of including knowledge gained from the Demon Realm and as such the UFS, makes efforts to gain control over Demon Gates or create other possible options like Otherworld Gates and dimensional research.

Structure[]

The UFS is complicated with who and what part of it supports what:

The Department of Defense (DOD) []

The DOD is Anti-Nomad and use independent Taimanin cells, from time to time and research branches like the DSO. As an Anti Nomad group they are led by people like Koukawa Oboro or Steel Taimanin Koukawa Asuka to fight demons, Nomad or the Chinese Union in secret. Cooperation with the Taimanin of Gosha Village and Japan has been done in the past.

State Department []

The department is Pro-Nomad, using it to slowly make Japan part of the Pacific Community Affiliation, which would take away any independence of Japan. The State Department aims for the superiority of the UFS. It uses Task Force G and CS (Cyborg Soldier) agents to infiltrate other groups or fight with the DOD in secret using "G".

The Chinese Union describes people under the UFS flag as slaves living in false peace.

Military[]

The Southern Special Forces are a large military force, overlooking Latin America, currently under Noel Renoir. Other smaller units like the Stormcats of Mirabell Bell and Rabbit Platoon are also of note.

History[]

Originally the USA, it changed strongly before the Second World War and after the Taiwan Crisis.

The UFS is in a cold proxy war with the Chinese Union since the end of the Taiwan Crisis, having increased in size by absorbing multiple nations, including the entire southern American continent.

As a result of the ongoing Taiwan Crisis, in which China Invaded Taiwan 30 years ago, Japan joined a USA-Japan Security Treaty. The Chinese Union tried to avoid conflict with America, but the new alliance pushed them to invade Okinawa with ground troops. At the same time, an internal coup in the China, led by parts of the military authorities, resulted in the air bombing of Beijing. The chaos in China stopped their ongoing conflict with Japan, while the EU was able to negotiate a ceasefire as a third party. Russia assists against the coup, slowing down the deterioration of the situation as more nations are worried of a possible outbreak of an additional war between the UFS and Russia.

USA is reborn as the UFS after the war.

At this point, the UFS has half-colonized Japan, but still tries to increase its influence into internal affairs as well.
