Yuyami (ゆうやみ) is the main antagonist of Onmyo Knight Towako, an evil Onmyouji using her summon Jormungand.
She is the leader of her own crime group.
Personality[]
Yuyami is sadistic to the extreme, having killed Yagyuu Towako former mentor to draw Towako's attention by brutally skinning her alive and killing her afterward in an even more gruesome way. She finds joy in the pain of others, be it mental or physical. Wanting to break Towako into a slave, simply as it seems the cruel option for now. She mocks her opponents constantly, will lie and gets bored by people that are too serious.
She demands respect and obedience, Yuyami wished to gain power, even selling her own soul for it. At times, she shows fear of her body getting harmed, however, this is just an act to hide that her body is more or less fake. She is sexual and indulgent at points, but with the intention of torture or training.
Though, she works with Abe Koso, she finds him a bit dull but still follows their agreement.
In truth, fully loyal to serving the White-faced, Golden-furred, Nine-tailed Fox. It is unclear how much of the original Yuyami exists, as she has given her mind to her Shikigami Spirit.

Background[]
A criminal rogue Onmyoji, which was on a quest for power.
At some point Yuyami sold her soul in a forbidden ritual, to Jormungand, her snake-like Shikigami Spirit, a servant of the White-faced, Golden-furred, Nine-tailed Fox. The fox, a demon-like being threatening to destroy the world, sealed by an ancestor of the Abe family of Yagyuu Towako. Gaining a near immortal body but also leaving Jormungand now fully in charge of her mind and body, she could only be killed with the death of Jormungand. Because the "Spirit" itself is in control, her entire body can be destroyed as she is not really the one in control, but keeps this a secret. As a result of the ritual, Yuyami's goal became the death or corruption of the Abe family, in which the successor's life was bound with the seal of the fox. However, unable to kill the current and very powerful if not old Abe Yumei, she needed to work underhanded.
Yuyami killed the mother and father of Yagyuu Towako in a terror attack on a plane. Yuyami herself, cut off the heads of Towako's parents and send them to the government, as a show of force and fear. Weakening the stand of the Abe clan overall, which still protected the seal of the White-faced, Golden-furred, Nine-tailed Fox, under the HQ.
She is also the leader of a "criminal group" which had multiple Incubus members, which made money from slave trade and prostitution at their Tower of Pleasure. She gained the assistance of ancient Shuten Douji and the brothers Byron & Meynard & Ian, at times.
Visual Novels[]
After the death of Towako's parents, the unaware Towako blamed her grandfather, which could not save his own family regardless of his power and grew distant.
However, Yumei was still in power. Towako had become rebellious and independent now lacking protection over the greater Onmyo Agency of her grandfather. Yuyami made her the next target, but could not attack directly as she was guarded by the very skilled Onmyoji family butler, Shiki Reika. Next, Yuyami lured Towako's mentor Yuko Sakura into a trap and skinned her alive, just to be killed afterward and put to other bodies she stored. Hiding herself in a church of Kyoto, waiting for Towako by spreading miasma and lesser demons, killing all Onmyo Agency Onmyoji, which came her way. Both Yuyami and Towako fought but Towako even alone, was much stronger than Yuyami at first, forcing Yuyami to escape.
At this point, Yuyami already had also made contact with the disgruntled adopted son of Abe Yumei, Abe Koso. Both created a new trap Towako, leading her to investigate one of her men Byron, which let her to the Tower of Pleasure, seeing her mentor she let her guard down even though it was Yuyami using her mentors skin to disguise herself. Towako was overpowered by both Yuyami and Koso, in combat, and weakened by other mental attacks. At the same time the ancient Incubus Incubus, Shuten Doji took care of Towako's butler Shiki Reika. Having corrupted Reika's dreams for a while, he had now placed an obedience curse on her to make her unable to rescue Towako
Abe Koso suggested killing Towako on the spot, but Yuyami hoped to corrupt her will and use her to kill Abe Yumei, not wanting to wait for old age to do the same. Yuyami used her Incubus on Towako and oversaw a bit of her training herself. At the same time, Yuyami claimed more turf of the local yakuza of Isamu Kondo. Kondo was a contact of Towako and in love with her but also a pushover, able to visit Towako he was convinced by her to help and able to convey a message to people outside, which could free Reika from the curse, which in turn freed Towako.
Now both women free and the Incubus that trained them dead, both Yuyami and Abe Koso tried to stop their escape and kill them but were killed instead. Yuyami was blown into bits by a strong attack but against all odds reformed herself, only stopped thanks to the arrival of Abe Yumei, which still outclassed everybody. Yuyami afterward escaped, and both Yumei and Towako recovered some of their family ties, now looking into a way to take care of the Fox, with most of the truth about Yuyami and the family out in the open. However, Yuyami, or Jormungand, remained on the run, still trying to free her master.
It is unknown if she reformed her group at this point.
Timeline TABA/RPGX[]
Yuyami herself does not appear.
Her pawn Shuten Douji (TABA/RPGX) does, however, as well as Yagyuu Towako in TABA. Toawako still seems to be having issues with her grandfather based on the information that Fuuma Kotaro has in TABA, but it is unknown if it plays after or before Onmyo Knight Towako. Both RPGX and the TABA Universes make reference to a fox deity, which seems to be sealed or scattered. It is unknown if it is the same one. Onmyoji appear more often in RPGX. Some characters like Tenka and Tamamo also have ties to the 9-tailed fox.
Powers/Abilities[]
Main Weapon: Dagger
- Familiar: Jormungand, is her summon, a Snake being that also is her true form.
- Immortal: Her human body can be destroyed completely (heart or brain) and she will heal, the only way she can be killed is if Jormungand heart is destroyed. She is able to heal within seconds, losing her head multiple times in games. She can also not die of old age.
